Start to finish: He made sure his first game of the season was one to remember by scoring the opener in September’s 1-1 league draw against Chelsea. He went on to produce a series of fine performances that have gone down as his most accomplished since he joined from PSV Eindhoven four years ago.
In position: The 28-year-old has been used to threaten opposition defences from either flank, where his energy and directness in possession put defences on the back foot. His ability to swap wings with Ronaldo keeps rivals guessing, while his technique and skill in bringing others into the game make him a vital cog in the United machine.
Season highlight: He was named Man of the Match for his indefatigable display against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Not only did his neatly taken first-half goal give United the advantage, but his incisive play and constant running contrived to keep the Blues in retreat.
Vital contribution: With the Reds already a goal to the good in the Champions League semi-final against Arsenal, Sir Alex's men knew an away goal at the Emirates would result in the Gunners needing three and edge United a step closer to Rome. Park duly made the vital breakthrough after just eight minutes when he took advantage of Kieran Gibbs' slip and calmly clipped the ball home.
Any lows: The mixed feeling of being United’s best player in the one result of the season that every Red would rather forget (Liverpool, of course). He led by example, but sadly his energetic efforts proved in vain.
Any other business: All eyes will be on Park when he returns to his homeland this summer as part of United’s Asia Tour. He’ll get the superstar treatment as soon as he steps off the plane, and the adulation of thousands of screaming fans won’t stop for the entire time he’s in the country.
