Transfer Rumours: Arrivals

The rumour mill is starting to catch up with the so-called rebuilding predicted by the press following United's defeat in Rome.

The familiar names being bandied around include Lyon striker Karim Benzema, Wigan winger Antonio Valencia and Dutch forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar who's rumoured to be restless at Real Madrid. More obscure suggestions range from Valencia's team-mate, Maynor Figueroa to Sheffield United right-back Kyle Naughton and Le Mans goalkeeper Yohann Pele.

Some of the fees being mentioned are plain one-upmanship. Kaka's worth £60m is he? Pah! We want £87m for Franck Ribery, say Bayern Munich. The Guardian links United with the latter, although Chelsea seem more likely buyers.

Manchester United has a policy of not commenting on transfer speculation.
